Summit Open Bible Core Beliefs

We are a Pentecostal Church believing that the day of Pentecost is as relevant today as the one that is found in Acts Chapter 2.

Bible:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. All 66 books of the Old and New Testament are inspired by the Spirit of God and that His word has the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16

God:

We believe in one God, who is our Heavenly Father, eternally existing, with no beginning and no end.

Jesus Christ:

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary, and who led a sinless life. We believe in the miracles that Christ performed, and that He was the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins by His shed blood on the cross of Calvary. We believe in His resurrection as the sign of His victory over death, and that He ascended into Heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe that He will come again in power and glory to call His children home.

The Holy Spirit:

We believe in the absolute and essential deity, and in the personality of the Holy Spirit. We believe that He dwells within us, convicting us of our sins and transforming our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus assisting us to live a Godly life. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as evident by the by the praying in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

Mankind:

We believe that Adam was divinely created in the image of God and that through sin and disobedience, fell into a state consisting of both a spiritual and physical death eternally separated from God without the saving grace of Jesus Christ acting as our bridge back to the Father.

Salvation:

We believe that salvation is by the sovereign grace of God and that Christ freely was crucified on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sin. We believe that no one comes to the Father except through the Son. John 14:6.
